It's been 2.5 years since Connie and I have gotten married, and almost 12 years now since we first started dating. This young couple brought me back to the days of young puppy love. They were so happy to be with each other. I don't think I have to ask them to smile once, because they were constantly making each other laugh. They took us to the spot where Austin asked Erica to be his wife forever, and when asked about how he proposed, Austin gave a pretty (literally) unbelievable account of it and Erica just laughed. They met each other in undergrad at Northwestern where they both graduated last spring. Austin just finished up a Masters there this year and also won Big 10 receiver of the year with the Wildcats who won their bowl game. They got engaged this spring and are due to be wed this summer. They told me that the day after our shoot, Austin was all set to fly out to Boston where he was going to be joining the Patriots for training camp hoping to earn a spot on the roster. It pretty much goes without saying that they've been keeping very, very busy.
We got to shoot on a beautiful, windy Saturday afternoon on the beach in Evanston. The only complaint we had was that the Sun was a little bit too harsh, but that's never really a bad thing in Chicago, and thankfully, we were able to find a few moments of cloud cover and take some shots in the shade. Their beautiful smiles and their overflowing affection for one another made my job ridiculously easy.
I'm so excited for the two of you to be getting married next month. I wish you both the best, and I pray that y'all would be faithful to showing Christ through your marriage.
